From Community to Purpose: The Shift Shaping Our Businesses
A few weeks ago, I hosted my friend
in Charleston to celebrate her new, NYT best-selling cookbook, What To Cook When You Don’t Feel Like Cooking. We had a cozy, thoughtful lunch & conversation among some awesome female creators and friends midday. And later that night, Jaimie Dewberry, the Dewberry Hotel crew and I welcome Caroline on stage to share a conversation with her own community of Charleston women (ladies who traveled from North Carolina, Georgia and even Miami to meet her). The event was standing room only, and the vibe was infectious (you can see my reel recap here).I was FLOORED how quickly we filled seats for the 200-person Dewberry ballroom. Within days of posting that Caro was going to be in town, the event sold out. I don’t think we posted about it more than once or twice. In reality, we could have filled three of those ballrooms full of Caroline fans (plus one very kind husband holding their newborn!) who wanted to meet and hear from her.
I had an “aha” moment that day about a budding change in our economy, and I wanted to share it…
